Gary Kapner brings decades of business, municipal, and community leadership experience to the Mendham Township Committee.
He served two terms on the New Providence Borough Council, including as Council President, and spent 10 years on the New Providence Planning Board. In Mendham Township, he has served on the Zoning Board of Adjustment, including as Chair, giving him extensive experience with zoning, land use, and property-rights issues.
As a longtime business owner, Gary has managed finance, operations, personnel, technology, and logistics. His community service has included leadership with the Lions Club, local business organizations, the Boy Scouts, and Mendham Township organizations.

Giving back to the community isn’t something Gary Kapner discovered during a campaign. For decades, Gary and Rachel Kapner have supported organizations, volunteers, and causes that make a difference in people’s lives.

Supporting the Mendham Community and First Responders
• Mendham Township First Aid Squad — Through Creative Wallcoverings & Interiors, Gary and Rachel make an annual donation to the Mendham Township First Aid Squad, supporting its volunteer emergency medical responders.
• Brookside Engine Company — Creative Wallcoverings & Interiors has sponsored the Brookside Engine Company’s annual Clambake, supporting the volunteer firefighters who serve Mendham Township.
• Mendham Township PBA — Creative Wallcoverings & Interiors has sponsored the Mendham Township PBA Golf Outing, supporting local law enforcement.

• New Providence Lions Club — As a longtime member and past president, Gary helped support organizations including the New Providence Fire Department, EMS Rescue Squad and PBA.
• PBA Local 132 — Gary is an honorary member of the New Providence PBA.
• Municipal service — During his years on the New Providence Borough Council, Gary’s responsibilities included public safety.
• Connie Dwyer Breast Cancer Foundation — Rachel serves as a board member, supporting the foundation’s work in the fight against breast cancer.
• Brooke Healey Foundation — Gary and Rachel support the Brooke Healey Foundation and its charitable work.
• Women’s Association of Morristown Medical Center — Through Creative Wallcoverings & Interiors, Gary and Rachel have supported the Women’s Association of Morristown Medical Center through 20 years of participation in Mansion in May. Rachel and her design team have contributed their professional expertise to this signature fundraising event, which benefits healthcare initiatives.
• NJY Camps — Gary and Rachel have supported NJY Camps, including as sponsors of its fundraising events supporting youth and families.
• Visual Arts Center of New Jersey — Gary and Rachel have supported the Visual Arts Center through their participation in its programs and community arts initiatives, including attending its events and making a donation to support its work.
